Principals have two options for inviting staff at their school to use Te Rito.
1. Email the account activation link and instructions to staff- This allows for the email address used for a staff member’s ESL account to be different to the email address used for their Te Rito account (which comes from your SMS).
- Sharing the above link with staff by standard email allows you to customise the message you send them about your school’s use of Te Rito.
- This will send an invitation from Te Rito directly to their email address.
- This requires that the email address used for a staff member’s ESL account and their Te Rito account (which comes from your SMS) are the same.
- If you’re unsure if a staff member has the same email address for ESL and your SMS, you should use method 1.
- From in the platform, you can invite one person or multiple staff to start using Te Rito.
- To start, log in to Te Rito and click on the Staff Zoom on the home screen.

(a) Inviting one staff member
(i) Click on the staff member’s name in the staff list. This will open the Teacher details page for that staff member.

(ii) Click ‘Send Invitation (Link Account)’ in the Account panel.

(b) Inviting multiple staff members at the same time
(i) Follow the steps above to get to the Staff Zoom.
(ii) There must be an email address (which comes from your SMS) against a staff member’s name for an invitation to be sent to them.
(iii) Apply the 'Has E-mail' filter to remove staff without an email address.

(iv) Click the gear icon located in the top right corner of the Staff Zoom page.

(v) A check box will appear beside each staff member’s name.
(vi) Click the names of staff you want to send the invitation to.

(vii) Click the checkbox at the top of the list to select all staff.

(viii) Click the drop-down arrow beside the gear icon.
(ix) Select ‘Send Account Linking Messages’ from the drop-down menu.

(x) A pop-up window will appear. Add and remove staff from the list.
(xi) If you would like to re-send the invitation to staff who might need a prompt to accept it, select the appropriate timeframe for sending the ‘follow-up’ email.
(xii) Click ‘Send’ to send your Te Rito invites.
