IMPORTANT
This article explains the process for onboarding to Te Rito using the self-provisioning process.
The Self Provisioning process is needed when the staff email addresses in the schools Student Management System (SMS) are different to the email addresses used in the Education Sector Login (ESL) account.
Pre-requisites:
In order to be able to onboard (log in and start using Te Rito) you need:
1. Have already connected your schools SMS and be sending data to Te Rito
2. Have correctly added the Te Rito access roles to your staff ESL account
3. Staff accounts in your Student Management System must have both a First Name, Last Name and an e-mail address in order for them to appear in Te Rito. If you need to edit your or your staff names in the SMS, wait another day after doing so before trying the provisioning process.
Staff are authenticated into Te Rito using the Education Sector Login (ESL) system. To log in to Te Rito, your school must have the Te Rito application assigned to it in ESL and you must have an active ESL account with an appropriate Te Rito role assigned to it. Staff can log in to ESL's Self Service to check that they have a Te Rito role.
Accessing Te Rito
- Click here: Activate my account which will direct you to the ESL log in page.
- Select "ESL Account" and log in to your ESL account.
- Once logged in to your ESL account, you will be re-directed back to Te Rito where you will need to enter your email address used in your school's Student Management System (SMS). Make sure to use the correct email address, as this is where your invitation will be sent.
- Click on the "Generate Invitation" button after entering your Student Management System email address. An invitation message from noreply@access.terito.govt.nz will then be sent to the provided email address. Check your inbox, including your spam or junk folder, for this email.
- Open the invitation email and click the link to start using Te Rito.
- You will be prompted to read and accept Te Rito’s Terms of Use. Take the time to review the terms, and if you agree, click Accept to complete the linking process.
If you are unsure if you have a Te Rito role assigned to your ESL account, are seeing the message below or are having trouble logging in, please check with your school Delegated Authoriser (DA).
